Target Information
CD127 (Interleukin-7 receptor, IL-7R) is a glycoprotein involved in the regulation of lymphopoiesis. The cellular response to CD127 depends on the presence of the IL7R complex, which is an alpha/gamma chain heterodimer. The gamma(c) chain, shared with the IL-2 receptor, primarily activates signal transduction, while the alpha chain determines specific signaling events through association with cytoplasmic molecules.
CD127 promotes proliferation of precursor B cells, thymocytes, T cell progenitors, and mature CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells. Dysfunctions in CD127 are associated with severe combined immunodeficiency and related immune disorders.
