Target Information
BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1)은 핵 내 인산화 단백질로, 유전체 안정성 유지에 중요한 역할을 하며 종양 억제 단백질로 작용합니다. 다른 종양 억제 인자, DNA 손상 감지 단백질, 신호 전달 단백질들과 함께 BASC(BRCA1 associated genome surveillance complex)를 형성합니다.
BRCA1은 RNA polymerase II 및 histone deacetylase complex와 상호작용하여 전사 조절, 이중 가닥 DNA 손상 복구, 재조합 과정에 관여합니다.
BRCA1 유전자 돌연변이는 유전성 유방암의 약 40%, 유전성 유방 및 난소암의 80% 이상과 관련이 있습니다. 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 일부는 질병 관련 변이로 알려져 있습니다.
