Product Specific Information

  • Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
  • The peptide shares 95% identity with rat and mouse sequences.
  • Specificity: KCNJ13.

Target Information

Inward rectifier potassium channels preferentially allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out. Their voltage dependence is regulated by extracellular potassium concentration; as external potassium increases, the voltage range for channel opening shifts to more positive values.
Inward rectification is mainly due to blockage of outward current by internal magnesium.
KCNJ13 exhibits very low single-channel conductance, low sensitivity to block by external barium and cesium, and no dependence of inward rectification on internal magnesium.
