Target Information
DNA replication, recombination, and repair processes necessary for genomic stability require exonucleases. During DNA replication, exonucleases process Okazaki fragments, while in DNA repair they remove damaged DNA fragments and correct recombinational mismatches. These include DNA polymerases α, β, δ, and ε.
DNA polymerase δ and ε are multisubunit enzymes; DNA polymerase δ consists of two subunits that interact with the sliding clamp protein PCNA.
DNA polymerase δ subunit 3 (POLD3, also known as p66) is a 466-amino-acid nuclear protein essential for proper DNA polymerase δ function.
