UMP-CMP kinase 2 (CMPK2)는 인간 미토콘드리아에서 처음 확인된 뉴클레오타이드 모노포스페이트 키나아제입니다. 이는 뉴클레오타이드 합성의 salvage pathway 구성 요소로, 단핵구 세포의 말단 분화에 관여할 수 있습니다. CMPK2는 N-말단(기능 미상)과 C-말단(키나아제 기능)을 가지며, UMP-CMP 키나아제 활성 외에도 다른 생물학적 기능을 수행할 수 있는 이중 기능 단백질로 추정됩니다. 또한 CMPK2는 dUTP 및 dCTP 합성에 관여하며, 미토콘드리아 내에서 dCMP와 dUMP의 인산화를 담당합니다. 이 단백질은 대식세포 활성화 및 염증 반응에도 적극적으로 관여합니다.
