Target Information
CNOT6L has 3'-5' poly(A) exoribonuclease activity for synthetic poly(A) RNA substrate. It is a catalytic component of the CCR4-NOT complex, a major cellular mRNA deadenylase linked to processes such as bulk mRNA degradation, miRNA-mediated repression, translational repression, and transcription regulation. It may participate in deadenylation-dependent mRNA degradation via AU-rich element-mediated mechanisms and is involved in degradation of CDKN1B mRNA. Its deadenylase activity can be inhibited by TOB1. CNOT6L mediates cell proliferation and survival, preventing cellular senescence. [UniProt]
