Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with ABCB8 from human, mouse, and rat based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known. The antibody detects ABCB8 in cell lysates.

Target Information

This nuclear gene encodes a multi-pass membrane protein targeted to the mitochondrial inner membrane. The encoded protein is an ATP-dependent transporter that may mediate the passage of organic and inorganic molecules out of the mitochondria.
Loss of function of the related gene in mouse results in disruption of iron homeostasis between the mitochondria and cytosol.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
