Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is part of a voltage-independent potassium channel activated by intracellular calcium. Activation leads to membrane hyperpolarization, promoting calcium influx. This protein may form the predominant calcium-activated potassium channel in T-lymphocytes. It shares similarity with other KCNN family genes but may represent a distinct subfamily.
