ALK 유전자의 돌연변이, 재배열 및 증폭은 다양한 종양(예: Anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, non-small cell lung cancer)에서 발견됩니다.
염색체 재배열은 가장 흔한 유전적 변형으로, ALK와 nucleophosmin (NPM) 유전자가 융합되어 NPM-ALK 융합 유전자가 형성됩니다.
이 융합 단백질은 종양 형성에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, ALK는 LTK와 가장 높은 서열 유사성을 보입니다.
