Target Information
Activins는 transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily에 속하는 이합체 성장 및 분화 인자입니다.
이들은 type I (I, IB) 및 type II (II, IIB) 수용체로 구성된 이형 복합체를 통해 신호를 전달합니다.
수용체는 ligand-binding extracellular domain, transmembrane domain, serine/threonine kinase 활성을 가진 cytoplasmic domain으로 구성됩니다.
Type I 수용체는 신호전달에 필수적이며, type II 수용체는 ligand 결합과 type I 수용체 발현에 필요합니다.
Ligand 결합 후 type I과 II 수용체가 복합체를 형성하고, type II 수용체가 type I 수용체를 인산화시켜 신호를 활성화합니다.
Activin A의 돌연변이는 fibrodysplasia ossificans progressive와 관련이 있습니다.
