Target Information
TRF2 is a ubiquitously expressed protein implicated in the control of telomere length. It binds to duplex TTAGGG repeats and localizes to all human telomeres in metaphase chromosomes. TRF2 helps protect chromosome ends by maintaining telomere structure and plays a role in preventing senescence in primary human cells. Inhibition of TRF2 can induce apoptosis in certain mammalian cell types.
