Target Information
This gene encodes a protein involved in cytokinesis. The protein is highly expressed during the S and G2/M phases of mitosis but decreases dramatically as cells enter the G1 phase. It localizes to the nucleus during interphase, associates dynamically with mitotic spindles during mitosis, and concentrates at the mid-body during cytokinesis. It serves as a substrate for several cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and is essential for polarizing microtubules and organizing contractile ring assembly.
