Target Information
TLR7 is a highly conserved membrane protein belonging to the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, containing 27 leucine-rich repeats (LRR) and a TIR domain. It plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLR7 is activated by single-stranded RNA viruses such as influenza and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). It is mainly expressed in lung, placenta, and spleen, and is located near TLR8. Activation of TLR7 via MyD88 and TRAF6 leads to NF-κB activation, cytokine secretion, and inflammatory responses. TLR7 recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and mediates cytokine production essential for effective immunity.
