Osteopontin은 아르기닌-글라이신-아스파르트산(RGD) 서열을 포함하는 당단백질로, integrins 및 CD44 수용체와 상호작용합니다. 이 단백질은 골 무기질화, 세포 부착, 이동, 만성 염증 및 종양 변형에 관여하는 다기능 단백질입니다. Thrombin 및 matrix metalloproteinases에 의한 절단은 integrin 결합 특성을 조절하며, 절단된 Osteopontin 조각은 악성 교종에서 과발현되어 세포 생존에 유리한 환경을 제공합니다.
