Target Information
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins that share the function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), confining the holoenzyme to specific cellular locations.
This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family, highly expressed in brain regions and cardiac/skeletal muscle. It localizes to the sarcoplasmic reticulum and nuclear membrane, anchoring PKA to these sites.
