For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The cystatin superfamily comprises cysteine protease inhibitors.

• Type 1 (Cystatins A and B): Mainly intracellular
• Type 2 (Cystatins C, D, E/M, F, G, S, SN, SA): Extracellular
• Type 3 (Kininogens): Intravascular proteins

All true cystatins inhibit cysteine peptidases such as cathepsins, and some inhibit legumain family enzymes.
Cystatin SA, S, and SN are primarily found in saliva, while S and SN are also expressed in tears, urine, and seminal fluid.
Cystatin C is expressed in brain, thymus, ovary, epididymis, and vas deferens.
Cystatin D protects oral cavity proteins, and Cystatin E/M and F moderate cathepsin inhibition.
Fetuins, part of this superfamily, influence osteogenesis, insulin receptor regulation, and systemic inflammation response.
Kininogen HC and LC inhibit thrombin- and plasmin-induced thrombocyte aggregation.
