Target Information
The Tet repressor protein (TetR) regulates transcription of a family of tetracycline resistance determinants in Gram-negative bacteria.
The Tet system is widely used as a regulatory system for conditional gene expression in eukaryotic cells.
While TetR can function directly in some organisms, in mammals and many other eukaryotes it is typically fused to transcriptional activator or repressor domains to enable efficient regulation.
