Description:
Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also known as Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils.
IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocytic lineages. These functions are often enhanced or dependent on co-stimulation with other cytokines.

Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity at the amino acid level, and the bioactivity is highly species-specific — human IL-3 has no activity on mouse cells.

Interleukin 3 (IL-3) is a hematopoietic growth factor produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils. It stimulates colony formation of multiple blood cell lineages including erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocyte.
IL-3 supports proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis of hematopoietic cells and exhibits neurotrophic activity, potentially associated with neurologic disorders.
Human IL-3 is species-specific and does not act on mouse cells.
