RNA polymerase II는 mRNA 및 여러 비암호화 RNA의 합성에 관여하는 효소입니다.
POLR2A 유전자는 RNA polymerase II의 가장 큰 소단위인 subunit B1 (RPB1)을 암호화합니다.
RPB1의 C-말단 도메인(CTD)은 YSPTSPS라는 반복 서열을 포함하며, Serine-2 및 Serine-5의 인산화는 전사 과정 중 인자들의 결합과 RNA 처리 인자의 모집에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
