Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins containing two EF-hand motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus and are involved in regulating various cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes are clustered on chromosome 1q21 and include at least 13 members. This protein may play a role in motility, invasion, and tubulin polymerization. Chromosomal rearrangements and altered expression have been associated with tumor metastasis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
