TBX19 유전자는 T-box 도메인을 공유하는 보존된 전사 인자 계열에 속하며, 발생 과정 조절에 관여합니다. 이 유전자 돌연변이는 뇌하수체 POMC 유래 ACTH 결핍 환자에서 발견되었으며, 뇌하수체 POMC 계통의 분화에 필수적인 역할을 합니다. ACTH 결핍은 체중 감소, 식욕 부진, 무력감, 구역, 구토, 저혈압 등의 부신 기능 저하 증상을 유발합니다.
