Target Information
AURKC (Aurora C) is a chromosomal passenger protein that forms complexes with AURKB (Aurora B) and inner centromere proteins, playing a role in organizing microtubules in relation to centrosome/spindle function during mitosis.
It is overexpressed in several cancer cell lines, suggesting involvement in oncogenic signal transduction.
Aurora kinase activity influences cell cycle events from G2 phase to cytokinesis, including centrosome duplication, chromosome bi-orientation and segregation, cleavage furrow positioning, and ingression.
