Product Specific Information
- Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for staining of paraffin sections.
- Suggested positive control for IHC: placenta.
- In Western blot, detects a band at approximately 50–55 kDa in human liver cell lysate.
- Rabbit anti-human CD98 light chain antibody recognizes an epitope within the N-terminal region of CD98LC (4F2 light chain, LAT-1).
Target Information
CD98 (4F2) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein serving as the heavy chain of heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HATs). It forms disulfide-linked complexes with various light chains, enabling cell surface expression and basolateral localization in polarized epithelial cells. CD98 also interacts with β1 integrins to enhance ligand affinity and plays roles in cell fusion, activation, differentiation, growth, and apoptosis.
