Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
AQR is involved in pre-mRNA splicing as a component of the spliceosome. It functions as an intron-binding spliceosomal protein required to link pre-mRNA splicing and snoRNP (small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein) biogenesis. AQR plays a key role in the position-dependent assembly of intron-encoded box C/D snoRNP, with splicing being required for snoRNP assembly. It may assist in folding the snoRNA sequence and binds to introns of pre-mRNAs in a sequence-independent manner, contacting the region between snoRNA and the branchpoint during late splicing stages. The protein exhibits ATP-dependent RNA helicase activity and can unwind double-stranded RNA molecules with a 3′ overhang in vitro. [UniProt]
