Target Information
Apoptosis(세포사멸)는 다양한 질병 및 발달 과정과 관련이 있습니다. Mitochondrial 단백질인 cytochrome c, Apaf-1, AIF는 apoptosis에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
최근 발견된 새로운 mitochondrial septin-like 단백질은 ARTS로 명명되었으며, TGF-beta 신호 전달 경로의 apoptosis 관련 단백질입니다.
ARTS는 인간 septin H5/PNUTL2/CDCrel2b 유전자에 의해 암호화되며, mitochondria에 위치하다가 apoptosis 발생 시 핵으로 이동합니다.
ARTS는 여러 조직에서 발현되며, TGF-beta에 의해 유도된 세포사멸을 촉진하고, TNF-α 및 Fas ligand와 같은 다른 apoptotic 인자에 의해서도 부분적으로 세포사멸을 유도합니다.
