ATP5J2는 미토콘드리아 ATP 합성효소의 F0 도메인 복합체의 일부로, 전자 전달계의 프로톤 구배에 의해 ADP로부터 ATP를 생성하는 역할을 합니다. 이 복합체는 용해성 촉매 핵심(F1)과 막관통 성분(Fo)으로 구성되며, Fo는 프로톤 채널을 포함합니다. ATP5J2는 Fo 복합체의 f 서브유닛을 암호화하며, 대체 스플라이싱에 의해 두 가지 아이소폼이 생성됩니다.
