Target Information
CFHR5 유전자는 chromosome 1에 위치한 complement factor H (CFH) 유전자 클러스터의 구성원입니다. 이 유전자군의 단백질들은 complement activation 조절에 관여하는 short consensus repeats (SCRs)를 포함합니다. CFHR5 단백질은 9개의 SCR을 가지며, 첫 두 반복은 heparin 결합 특성을, 반복 5–7 영역은 heparin 및 C-reactive protein 결합 특성을, C-말단 반복은 complement component 3b (C3b) 결합 도메인과 유사한 특성을 가집니다. CFHR5는 C3와 공동 위치하며, C3b에 농도 의존적으로 결합하고, C-reactive protein으로 손상된 조직에 모집됩니다.
이 유전자의 변이는 두 가지 신장 질환(MPGNII 및 HUS)과 관련이 있으나 인과적 연관은 확인되지 않았습니다.
