Target Information
Hepatocyte nuclear factor 6 (HNF6) is a CUT homeobox family transcription factor containing both CUT and homeobox DNA-binding domains. It regulates genes involved in maturity-onset diabetes of the young and interacts with the FOXM1 transcription factor network. HNF6, together with HNF4, controls gene expression in the liver, with expression levels increasing during development. Dysregulation of HNF6 and HNF4 expression can lead to premature or delayed expression of the g6pc gene.
