B-lymphoid tyrosine kinase (BLK) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the Src family of kinases. It plays an important role in B-cell activation. Protein kinases transfer a phosphate group from ATP to substrate proteins, mediating signal transduction in eukaryotic cells and regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle, cytoskeletal organization, apoptosis, and differentiation.
