Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Nuclear lamins form a network of intermediate-type filaments at the nucleoplasmic side of the nuclear membrane. Two main subtypes exist: A-type and B-type lamins.
A-type lamins (lamin A, lamin C, lamin Adel 10) arise from the same gene by alternative splicing, while B-type lamins (lamin B1, lamin B2) are encoded by distinct genes.
Mutations in A-type lamins are associated with several rare but dominant genetic disorders, including:

  • Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy
  • Dilated cardiomyopathy with conduction-system disease
  • Dunnigan-type familial partial lipodystrophy

A-type lamin expression correlates with cell differentiation and interacts with chromatin, suggesting a role in regulating differential gene expression.
