Target Information
UNC45A, also named as SMAP1, acts as a co-chaperone for HSP90. UNC45A prevents the stimulation of HSP90AB1 ATPase activity by AHSA1. It promotes PGR function in the cell and is essential for proper folding of myosin, normal cell proliferation, myotube formation, and myosin accumulation during muscle cell development. Additionally, UNC45A plays a role in erythropoiesis in stroma cells of the spleen.
