Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues and implicated in metabolic actions of insulin. It participates in multiple signaling pathways as a transducer of growth factor receptor signals that activate phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K). AKT2 is known to be amplified and overexpressed in certain human cancers.
