Target Information
RDBP is part of a complex termed negative elongation factor (NELF), which represses RNA polymerase II transcript elongation. This protein shows similarity to nuclear RNA-binding proteins, though RNA binding has not been demonstrated. It contains alternating basic and acidic residues, primarily arginine (R) and aspartic acid (D). The gene encoding this protein is located within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class III region on chromosome 6.
