Target Information

Syntrophin is an adapter protein that binds signaling molecules to the dystrophin-associated protein complex, linking the extracellular matrix to the intracellular cytoskeleton for postsynaptic structure maintenance.
Microtubule-associated serine/threonine-protein kinase 2 (MAST205) is a testis-specific cytoplasmic protein involved in spermatid maturation. It connects the dystrophin/utrophin network with microtubule filaments via Syntrophin and forms a complex with TRAF6 to regulate lipopolysaccharide-induced IL-12 synthesis in macrophages, thereby inhibiting TRAF6 NF-κB activation.
Two isoforms exist due to alternative splicing: isoform 1 (full length) and isoform 2 (lacking residues 327–396 and 1091–1113). Phosphorylation of the N-terminus is required for ubiquitination and subsequent proteasome-mediated degradation of MAST205.
