Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes the extracellular portion of CD158d / KIR2DL4, a 45 kDa NK cell marker. Cell surface expression and function of CD158d / KIR2DL4 depend on the genotype of individual donors.
Target Information
CD158d / KIR2DL4 is a member of the KIR family that shares structural features with both activating and inhibitory receptors. It contains a cytoplasmic ITIM domain suggesting inhibitory function, and a transmembrane region similar to activating KIRs. CD158d serves as an inhibitory receptor for peripheral and uterine NK cells, but ligation with soluble monoclonal antibodies can induce IFN-gamma secretion. It binds both membrane-bound and soluble forms of its ligand, HLA-G.
