Target Information
MTR encodes the enzyme 5-methyltetrahydrofolate-homocysteine methyltransferase, also known as cobalamin-dependent methionine synthase.
This enzyme catalyzes the final step in methionine biosynthesis.
Mutations in MTR are associated with methylcobalamin deficiency complementation group G.
