Target Information
This gene encodes an RNA-binding protein involved in growth regulation. It is present in pre-ribosomal ribonucleoprotein complexes and may play a role in ribosome assembly and rRNA processing.
EBP1 interacts with the cytoplasmic domain of the ErbB3 receptor, contributing to growth regulatory signaling.
It functions as a transcriptional co-repressor of androgen receptor-regulated genes and other cell cycle regulatory genes through interactions with histone deacetylases.
EBP1 is implicated in growth inhibition and differentiation induction of human cancer cells.
Six pseudogenes are located on chromosomes 3, 6, 9, 18, 20, and X.
