Antibody detects endogenous levels of total GNB5.
Target Information
The Gb5 protein is a G protein subunit predominantly expressed in the central nervous system. It exists in two forms: 39 kDa in the brain and 44 kDa in the retina. Gb5 associates tightly with RGS7, a regulator of G protein signaling, forming complexes localized to most brain regions. Gb1–4 do not show colocalization with RGS7, despite their codistribution in neuronal networks. This antibody targets a peptide sequence within the D1 blade, unique to Gb5 and not found in Gb1–4.
