Target Information
This gene encodes one of three natriuretic peptide receptors. Natriuretic peptides regulate blood volume, blood pressure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac function, and various metabolic and growth processes. The NPR3 receptor mediates clearance of circulating and extracellular natriuretic peptides through endocytosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
