Target Information
EFHD2 (also known as Swiprosin-1 or SWS1) is an EF-hand and coiled-coil-containing adaptor protein involved in lymphocyte physiology. It is highly expressed in CD8+ T cells and immature B cells. EFHD2 acts as a membrane scaffold required for Syk-, SLP-65-, and PLC-γ2-dependent B-cell receptor (BCR)-induced calcium flux. It may regulate BCR-induced immature and primary B-cell apoptosis by controlling BCL2L1 abundance and serves as a negative regulator of the canonical NF-κB-activating pathway.
