Target Information
SYMPK is a nuclear protein involved in the regulation of polyadenylation and gene expression. It forms a high-molecular-weight complex with polyadenylation machinery components and acts as a scaffold for recruiting regulatory factors. SYMPK also participates in the 3'-end maturation of histone mRNAs, which do not undergo polyadenylation, and localizes to cytoplasmic plaques of tight junctions in certain cell types.
