Product Specific Information

  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

ATRX encodes a protein containing an ATPase/helicase domain, belonging to the SWI/SNF family of chromatin remodeling proteins. Mutations in this gene are associated with X-linked mental retardation (XLMR) and alpha-thalassemia (ATRX) syndrome. These mutations can alter DNA methylation patterns, linking chromatin remodeling, DNA methylation, and gene expression in development. ATRX undergoes cell cycle-dependent phosphorylation, regulating its nuclear matrix and chromatin association, suggesting roles in gene regulation during interphase and chromosomal segregation during mitosis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
