Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This purified antibody has been heated to 56°C for 30 minutes. In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody will recognize both native and recombinant human IL-9 in cell supernatants and certain body fluids. A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

Target Information

CCL4 (Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 1-beta, MIP-1β) belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. Functionally, CCL4 is involved in chemotactic and proinflammatory responses and homeostasis. It is produced by macrophages upon stimulation by bacterial endotoxins and recruits various inflammatory cells to sites of inflammation.

CCL4 is produced by lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Together with CCL3, it regulates the trafficking and activation of inflammatory cells in response to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections. CCL4 selectively attracts CD4+ lymphocytes, while CCL3 attracts CD8+ lymphocytes. Both are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells. The processed form of CCL4 can down-modulate CCR5 receptor expression, inhibiting CCR5-mediated HIV-1 entry in T cells. CCL4 binds with high affinity to CCR5 receptors.
