Product Specific Information

The monoclonal rat IgG1, kappa (clone eBRG1) is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.

Applications Reported:
This antibody has been reported for use in immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded and frozen tissue sections, as well as immunocytochemistry.

Applications Tested:
Tested by immunocytochemistry on fixed and permeabilized cells. The isotype control should be used at the same concentration as the experimental antibody. Not validated for flow cytometry.

Filter Recommendation:
For eFluor™ 615 conjugate, use filters capturing the 615 nm emission wavelength (e.g., Excitation 560/55, 585LP, Emission 645/75). Alexa Fluor™ 594 filters are acceptable.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced by rats in response to antigens. Commonly used as negative controls in research, these antibodies do not bind to most mammalian antigens and are applied in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting. They can be purified from serum or hybridoma cultures and are valuable in gene targeting studies for disease modeling.
