Target Information
GADD153 (also known as CHOP or DDIT3) is a small nuclear protein that can dimerize with transcription factors C/EBP alpha and beta. This dimerization inhibits normal C/EBP binding and function, while gaining binding activity to stress-related targets. Under normal conditions, GADD153 expression is minimal but is highly upregulated during cellular or ER stress, such as treatment with tunicamycin, nutrient deprivation, or reducing agents affecting ER calcium flux.
