TRPV4 (Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily V Member 4)는 삼투압 변화에 반응하는 양이온 선택적 채널입니다. Ca²⁺ 투과성 비선택적 채널로서 삼투 및 기계적 자극 감지에 관여합니다. TRPV4는 OSM9-like TRP 채널(OTRPC) 아형에 속하며, 전신 삼투압 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
TRPV4 유전자 변이는 spondylometaphyseal dysplasia, metatropic dysplasia, hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy type IIC 등의 질환과 관련되어 있습니다. 다양한 isoform을 인코딩하는 transcript variant가 존재합니다.
