This antibody recognizes CD90/Thy-1, a GPI-anchored cell surface glycoprotein expressed predominantly on thymocytes, hematopoietic stem cells, and neurons.
Target Information
CD90 (Thy-1) is a GPI-linked glycoprotein and a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts. CD90 plays roles in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other neural events. It serves as a marker for various stem cells and axonal processes of mature neurons. Structural studies of CD90 contributed to the discovery of the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the characterization of vertebrate GPI anchors. CD90 dysfunction has been associated with diseases such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
