ASXL1는 리간드 결합 핵 호르몬 수용체(예: RARs, PPARG)에 의해 매개되는 전사 조절에 관여하는 Polycomb group (PcG) 단백질로 추정됩니다.
RARA 및 RXRA의 공동활성인자로서 NCOA1과 결합하며, 세포 유형에 따라 KDM1A 및 CBX5를 타겟 유전자로 모집하여 공동억제인자로 작용합니다.
PPARG의 공동억제인자로서 지방세포 분화 유도 활성을 억제합니다.
PR-DUB 복합체의 비촉매 구성요소로서, H2AK119ub1 (Lys-119가 단일 유비퀴틴화된 히스톤 H2A)의 탈유비퀴틴화를 매개합니다.
