Target Information
PYCRL encodes a cytoplasmic enzyme belonging to the pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase family.
These enzymes catalyze the final step in proline biosynthesis, converting pyrroline-5-carboxylate to proline.
Glutamate and ornithine serve as precursors in this pathway, linking PYCRL to proline synthesis from ornithine.
