Target Information
The 90 kDa heat shock protein (Hsp90) family of molecular chaperones is highly conserved and plays essential physiological roles. Hsp90 is involved in various cellular processes, particularly in signal transduction.
TRAP1, a homolog of Hsp90, associates with multiple proteins and is localized in the mitochondria of mammalian cells. Its mitochondrial targeting presequence indicates that TRAP1 functions as a mitochondrial matrix protein.
